 Introduction 

In class we have been reading short stories. The idea behind this is to get familiar with the fundamentals of fiction and story-telling. In order to start using your reading blogs that during the class learners created for this course, you will research about Kate Chopin and analyze  the Story of An Hour.

 

 Task 
This pre-blogging activity will help you to know about Kate Chopin and her literary work, learners are going to have a week to read the story and prepare the blog post with your own analysis. You will work with this story to achieve the goals.

  Process

Learners are going to work individually but students have the opportunity to share their comments with their classmates to discuss what the story is about, it conflict, rising action, climax, and resolution.

While you develop this reading task and look for information to complete it, try to answer the following questions that must be overtly answered in your blog post.

Your blog entry should be entitled as:

“The Story of An Hour”

Insert the autobiography of the author Kate Chopin

(Including a picture)

Analyze the plot of the story, you must include:

·        Exposition

·        Rising action

·        Climax

·        Falling action

·        Resolution

Identify the setting of the story, you have to include place and time.

Identify the themes of the story and explain them.

Analyze and describe the primary and secondary characters of the story.

Describe the three major symbols present in the story

Learners must include 5 sentences paragraph explaining their personal opinion of the story.
